Cocktail Recipes to Try This Valentine’s Day

This is dedicated to the loverrrrrrr… in youuuuu!! *Sleepy Brown voice* ♥ ♡

So, at the time of posting, it’s safe to say that I’m not a mixologist although I certainly have the meticulousness, imagination and creativity to be.

The will to put in the time when I’m just ready to get down to it, however, is another story!

I am quicker to mix a vodka cran and continue about my day. Then there is the fact that I quite often go months without sipping anything alcoholic at all which is easy to do considering the fact that I live in the middle of nowhere and until recently every “package store” near me has basically sucked of limited options.

Well this Lover’s Day, I absolutely intend to upgrade my palate and try a few new cocktail recipes even if I’ll only be loving myself like every other day haha!

The following recipes currently have little hearts in my eyes so let’s get mixed with these classic Valentine’s Day cocktails!

1. Cupid’s Arrow

  • 2 oz gin
  • 1 oz lemon juice
  • 1 oz raspberry syrup
  • 2 dashes of Angostura bitters

Shake all ingredients together with ice, strain into a glass and garnish with a lemon twist.

2. Besame(Kiss Me) Cocktail

  • 2 lime wedges
  • Raspberries(as many as you’d like)
  • 1½ oz Agavero Liqueur
  • 4 oz passion fruit juice
  • 1 splash raspberry liqueur

In a cocktail shaker, add lime wedges and raspberries. Mix in the Agavero and passion fruit juice and a small bit of raspberry liquor. Add ice and shake well. Pour into chilled cocktail glass without straining.

3. The St. Valentine

  • 1½ oz white rum
  • ½ oz ruby port
  • ½ oz Grand Marnier
  • ½ oz fresh lime juice

In a cocktail shaker, combine ingredients over ice and shake well. Strain into a chilled cocktail glass.

4. Spiked Hot Chocolate

  • 2 oz spiced rum
  • 4 oz hot chocolate
  • 1 oz whipped cream
  • Chocolate shavings

Mix rum and hot chocolate together in a mug. Top with whipped cream and chocolate shavings.

5. The Cherry Bomb

  • 2 oz cherry brandy
  • 1 oz lime juice
  • 1 oz triple sec
  • 1 oz cranberry juice

Shake all ingredients together with ice, strain into a glass and garnish with a lime wheel.

6. Love Potion

  • 2 oz vodka
  • 1 oz pomegranate juice
  • 1 oz cranberry juice
  • 1 oz grapefruit juice

Shake all ingredients together with ice, strain into a glass and garnish with a slice of grapefruit.

xx, Coco
